In a fashion world dominated by speed and mass production, one brand is gently yet boldly charting a different path. Sui, founded by entrepreneur and sustainability advocate Mahima Gujral, is transforming how we think about clothing, consumption, and care.
Gujral, a creative whose personal and professional roots span both Singapore and India. A graduate of LASALLE College of the Arts and SDA Bocconi, Mahima founded Sui in 2017 to bridge the gap between sustainability and accessibility in fashion.

“I started Sui because I wanted people to feel a connection with what they wear, to know who made their clothes, where the fabric came from, and what story it tells,” Mahima shares. “We are not here to be loud. We are here to be lasting.”
With the opening of its first retail studio in Singapore and the unveiling of its latest collection, “Meet Me by the Sea,” Sui wants to prove that fashion can be both beautiful and deeply meaningful.

At a time when the industry continues to grapple with overproduction, waste, and unfair labour, Sui champions slow, ethical production that places people and the planet at the forefront. The brand works with low-impact fabrics such as organic cotton, handwoven Kala cotton, linen, and lyocell, all produced through a transparent supply chain that supports fair wages, safe working conditions, and heritage craft communities.

Every piece is manufactured either in Mahima’s own workshop or in collaboration with salaried craftspeople in India. There are no middlemen, no outsourcing to faceless factories, and no ambiguity.
From fibre to final stitch, Sui maintains complete traceability and accountability. This fully in-house development model is made possible by Mahima’s deep-rooted family background in India’s garment industry. The brand tracks its carbon footprint and openly shares the environmental and social impact of its collections.

Sui also partners directly with like-minded artisan communities and NGOs to ensure that its values are never compromised.
Sui’s newest collection, “Meet Me by the Sea,” is a poetic exploration of nature’s rhythm, serenity and strength. Inspired by the ease, beauty and the flow of the ocean, the collection invites wearers to embrace a slower pace, reconnect with nature, and cherish garments that feel like a second skin.
The pieces reflect the essence of the sea through flowing silhouettes, hand and machine embroidered marine life motifs, and oceanic hues that range from sandy neutrals to deep-sea blues. Standouts in the collection include airy blouses, softly structured co-ord sets, and free-spirited dresses that echo the ease of seaside living. Each piece is part of a thoughtfully designed capsule: versatile, easy to style, and created to help the everyday woman dress with comfort and ease. Crafted in soft, natural textiles with a strong emphasis on linen and handwoven Kala cotton, the collection is produced in small batches to ensure care, quality, and uniqueness.
